Who does HSH serve?
Our residents are people who cannot find affordable housing in the community of Halton. Currently we have a home for single men only, for practical reasons, and are actively planning a second home.
Who cannot be served at HSH?
Due to considerations for a shared living situation, some people cannot be accommodated by the HSH model. This could include people with severe mental or physical disability; people with active drug or alcohol problems; people who are not able to live in a shared living environment and people who cannot commit to personal development and growth.
We provide referrals to appropriate local resources for anyone who is seeking help or housing.
Is HSH for you?
Home Suite Hope is designed for people of low or modest income who are capable of living in a group environment and are committed to personal development and growth.
Our purpose is to assist people with affordable housing as they build:
- a sense of empowerment and life-purpose
- a commitment to an active life
- positive change and growth
- participation in the community on a self-sufficient basis
To benefit from this shared living environment, residents must be able to live independently and cooperatively with others as outlined in the HSH Shared Living Agreement. Those interested in applying should review the Agreement carefully as they will be expected to abide by it.
Home Suite Hope supports residents in healthy living with regular contact and review of their goals. Each resident meets weekly with the HSH Facilitator, who assists residents in following the Shared Living Agreement, and in personal development and growth.
