Back to School at Home Suite Hope

Every year the arrival of fall signals back to school.

Families head home from the cottage and summer vacation and hit the stores for the annual shopping spree – new clothes, back to school essentials, lunch bags and backpacks.

For families struggling to make ends meet, may not feel the same ‘fresh new start’ hope that others do.

But every September also signals the time when Home Suite Hope steps in to support the families we serve.

Our sponsors and volunteers help HSH ensure every child – and every parent in our program journeying from poverty to stability - starts the school year with the tools and support they need to succeed!

This year, HSH is grateful to Irving Consumer Products, a long-time supporter, for its sponsorship of our annual Back-to-School Backpacks project in 2026.

Irving has funded the purchase of backpacks filled with grade and age-appropriate supplies for our program participants who will be heading back to classes in September - as well as for their children in grades ranging from daycare settings to post-secondary.

The shopping and assembly got underway as soon as the back-to-school sales were telegraphed.

Now the backpacks are ready for distribution to our single parents and their children before the first day of school.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community partners, HSH families heading back to school fully equipped and confident.
