It’s Thanksgiving weekend and there’s lots on your ‘To Do’ list, but don’t forget, it’s also your last chance to purchase tickets to Home Suite Hope’s (HSH) popular Empty Bowls signature fundraiser.
Over the years, Empty Bowls has grown to become a gathering the community knows and loves. This year, the delivery-at-home format makes a return!
Empty Bowls at Home 2023, presented by Taylor Inc., will take place Sunday, October 15, 2023. All soup kits will be delivered between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – just in time for lunch, with leftovers for dinner.
This year ticket purchasers will receive heaping helpings of five delicious soups prepared by chefs from local restaurants, along with COBS Bread for dipping and desserts. Many also opt to keep their hand-painted bowl.
In return, the deliveries will benefit single-parents who are in our four-year Homeward Bound Halton program. This program sees single parents who are in precarious housing or facing homelessness, stabilize in housing, earn a two-year post-secondary diploma and land a job – in order to move their family from poverty to stability.
The scrumptious soups will be just as welcome to you as a home and an opportunity for a new future is for HSH single-parents.

Pear & Parsnip Soup (Hearthstone by the Lake)
Roasted Corn and Bacon Bisque Soup (Oakville Golf Club)
Lentil Soup (Montfort Mediterranean Cuisine Oakville)
Chicken Thai Soup (Longo’s Markets)
Italian Red Lentil Vegetable Soup (Food for Life made by NextDoor Kitchen)
Home Suite Hope serves all of Halton as it unites a network of vital support services for single parents and their children — to encourage and support the families as they journey from poverty to stability.
All proceeds collected from this year's Empty Bowls at Home goes to HSH in providing essential wrap-around services and supports to single-parent families facing homelessness and poverty.
