Congratulations Home Suite Hope 2020-2023 Graduates: Hongmei, Diamond, Nicole, Churchill, Asha Duncan-Raymond, Shenees, Candice, Jasmine, Shawna & Valedictorian Melissa.
Hats off to Honourable Mentions - Aletha, Angelika and Robin.
HSH staff were joined by Board members, Industry Council representatives, mentors and local politicians and dignitaries at the event.
As part of Home Suite Hope’s programming, our participants work very hard to obtain degrees and diplomas in their chosen field to help better themselves and their family’s lives, and break the cycle of poverty.
Studies can be difficult on their own, and a single mother faces many additional challenges in trying to complete her education while raising her family single-handedly.
This year’s graduation event recognized the hard work and perseverance of the graduating participants from 2020-2023.
Thank you to the officials and dignitaries who joined the celebration or sent congratulations: HSH Executive Director Dr. Sara Cumming, HSH Board Chair France Fournier, Sheridan College President and Vice Chancellor Janet Morrison, Oakville Mayor Rob Burton, Oakville MPP Stephen Crawford, Halton Region Chair Gary Carr, Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, Oakville MP Anita Anand, Burlington MP Karina Gould, Milton MP Adam van Koeverden, Wellington-Halton Hills MP Michael Chong. Special thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for its three-year grant supporting the Homeward Bound Halton Youth pilot program.
