Empty Bowls is Nov. 6.
In its 14th year, Empty Bowls, presented by The Taylor Group, will once again bring the community together in support of single-parent families facing homelessness.
The event will be held Sunday, Nov. 6 at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School – and it will again be an in-person event.
Home Suite Hope’s signature fundraiser will see attendees selecting a hand-painted bowl and sampling the fare from various local restaurateurs.
HSH’s signature fundraiser resembles the soup-kitchen experience of the homeless.
This is HSH’s annual major fundraising event with all proceeds going to fund its work supporting single-parent families as they navigate the four-year Homeward Bound Halton (HBH) and HBH-Youth programs.
The program stabilizes single parents and their children in housing and prepares them with academic upgrading and life skills before they embark on a two-year post-secondary diploma program at Sheridan College. It continues to offer wrap-around support and mentorship as they job search in order to leave the program self-sufficient and able to support their family.
Tickets are on sale for Empty Bowls.
And HSH can always use help gathering the hundreds of bowls required for the event.
We welcome corporate groups looking for a community engagement opportunity or a local organization or a group of friends, taking part in a bowl painting event.
We thank Crack Pot Studio for its ongoing support of Empty Bowls and for coordinating the painting of bowls used at the event. Every year, new bowls are needed for event attendees to fill with soups from the various vendors. From managing bookings, orders, painting, and firing of the bowls, Crack Pot Studio does it all and Home Suite Hope could not be more grateful.
