Thank you for your support of Empty Bowls 2022

Thank you!

To everyone who attended Home Suite Hope’s 2022 Empty Bowls event presented by The Taylor Group at St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School Sunday, Nov. 6.

Home Suite Hope acknowledges the hard work of HSH’s Empty Bowls Committee – Cindy Perras, Krystal Valencia, Mary Sheridan, Melani Bastians and HSH Events Assistant Katelyn Zaoral (right) without whom the event could not have come together as it did.

We also thank Melissa Filice (left), an HSH grad, who stepped in to be our Volunteer Coordinator for the event.

HSH thanks the many volunteers who gave of their time to help us make the event awesome.

HSH Executive Director Sara Cumming delivered an amazing keynote address to the Empty Bowls crowd - and her entire family supported the event, including her four daughters, who greeted guests as they arrived (left to right: Talor, Maddy, Kennedy and Ryleigh, who also was quick to assist watching little ones as their parents were at the event.)

And we thank our sponsors. The Taylor Group, our presenting sponsor, has been with us for a long time and we are so grateful.

HSH's signature fundraiser, after two years of a delivery model because of the pandemic was back as an in-person event (with a small side of pick-up orders) - and returning to a familiar venue for past editions of Empty Bowls, St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School.

This year we welcomed Bell Canada as a Gold Sponsor with Silver Sponsors including Fiera Capital Foundation and Cogeco.

Holding up the Bronze Sponsorship were DetailsGuys.ca, Capstick McCollum & Associates, Schiavone Diamond Team, and Rina DiRisio Team, Royal LePage Real Estate Services Ltd.

We welcomed back long-time bread sponsor COBS Bread Lakeshore.

This year's soup sponsors served up rounds of delicious fare thanks to the chefs from No One Goes Hungry, Dana Hospitality, Kerr St Cafe, The Green Eatery, Montfort Mediterranean Cuisine Oakville, Burlington Culinary Experiences, Hearthstone Communities Services and Cariibbean Vibes.

After-soup desserts were provided thanks to Metro Glen Abbey, Longo's Southeast Oakville, Sobeys Glen Abbey, Fortinos Lakeshore, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Valet Marketing.

Dessert is nothing without coffee and we welcomed Starbucks as our coffee sponsor.

Gift baskets were provided by La Rose Specialty Italian Bakery and DaleyGlam Decor Inc.

Home Suite Hope serves single-parent families facing homelessness or precarious housing. Parents come to us and by working with Halton Region, they are housed and stabilized through life skills, academic upgrading and counselling. Sheridan College then assists us in providing a two-year scholarship bursary allowing the parents to gain a post-secondary education - in a highly employable field. Once graduated, we support the parents as they secure employment and move away from our program able to provide for and sustain their family on their own.

We would be remiss not to express our sincere gratitude to long-time bowl sponsors Crack Pot Studio as well as the Sheridan College Ceramics program - and all the many people who painted and donated their works of art to our event.

Everyone's generous support of Empty Bowls allows us to continue to provide this service to the Halton community where poverty and social challenge exists but is often not readily seen.

Thank you all, for your efforts and support! We hope to see you again next year at Empty Bowls.
