Have you heard of Home Suite Hope, but you’re not sure what it’s all about?
Home Suite Hope (HSH) has operated in Oakville, but serving clients across Halton, for more than a decade.
Its focus is on helping single parents, who are precariously housed and/or facing homelessness.
Home Suite Hope will be hosting an information session for members of the public on Monday, May 15.
This session is suitable for those who may wish to apply to HSH programming, case workers and members of the community.
Home Suite Hope is a housing first and wraparound service provider for single-parent families in Halton.
It offers numerous programs, but is centered on the Homeward Bound Halton program. This four-year program begins with Stabilizing First Halton. HSH works with Halton Region to stabilize the participant and their family in housing with supports that include counselling, daycare, referrals, networking and academic upgrading. It is followed by a two-year diploma program, made possible through a bursary provided by Sheridan College, in which the program participant studies a field that has been proven to offer solid prospects for employment and income.
Once graduated from Sheridan, the program participant is further supported by HSH through employment search, mentors and the HSH Industry Council. Upon securing stable employment and income, the participant can then graduate from HSH positioned to provide for themselves and their family independently.
Join HSH staff for the May 15 in-person information session to learn more about the organization, Sheridan College scholarship, program eligibility, housing, community supports and more.
The information session runs 5-7 p.m. Anyone interested in attending should RSVP by April 28 to HSH Interim Program Manager Nikkian Hanson at NikkianH@homesuitehope.org.
