We're in the midst of an urgent affordable housing crisis, and we need you to support our efforts!
Just three years ago,100% of Home Suite Hope's program participants graduated and paid market rent independently in 2020, but today, that number has plummeted to 72%. Our single parent participants, who are successfully moving from homelessness and poverty to a post-secondary diploma, employment and stabilization, are still struggling to afford the soaring prices that skyrocket with each passing day.
A one-bedroom apartment rarely hits the market for anything less than a jaw-dropping $2600 monthly. As for two-bedroom apartments, they command an astronomical price tag of over $3200 a month! It's a dire situation that hampers our ability to welcome new program participants, trapping them in the vicious cycle of homelessness and forcing them to depend even more on social assistance to survive.
In August, Flight For Hope embarked on a daring mission to fly a single-engine plane around the world - and raise awareness and funds for Home Suite Hope's visionary affordable housing campaign.
Join us as we celebrate the incredible journey of local pilot Callum Wallace. His solo flight in a single-engine plane began on August 1st, 2023 and took him to more than 26 countries. Only three Canadians had conquered the daring feat before him. He is now back home having completed his mission and helping HSH complete its mission.
