Join us in congratulating Homeward Bound Halton participant Brittany Carey, who will be graduating with Honours in the Welding & Fabrication Technician program at Sheridan College’s upcoming Convocation.

Brittany recently volunteered to be a guest speaker at the 20th anniversary industry educational forum hosted by the Hamilton Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Association in Burlington in April.
Industry professionals were on-hand to present and share their experiences in welding with local high school and college students. Brittany showcased some creative examples of her welding, spoke about her welding journey to date - and was the only female welder to present. It was a great opportunity for networking with those in the industry.

Brittany, who has an elementary school-aged daughter, made no secret that she was striving for high marks during her two-year program “to make a great example for women in the trades, but also Home Suite Hope. I’m very proud of how I am doing and can’t wait to see all the doors open up after schooling. I could never see this career path for myself a few years ago...or even attending college.”
Brittany has passed her exams and is a certified welder.
She will be officially graduating - with Honours - at Sheridan's upcoming Convocation ceremonies. Now her dreams are unfolding and we couldn’t be more proud!
Well done Brittany!
