Cast your mind back to 2020, when 100% of Home Suite Hope's program participants triumphantly graduated and paid market rent independently. But here's the shocking truth: today, that number has plummeted to 72%. Our marginalized communities are teetering on the edge, struggling to afford the soaring prices that skyrocket with each passing day.
A one-bedroom apartment rarely hits the market for anything less than a jaw-dropping $2600 monthly. As for two-bedroom apartments, they command an astronomical price tag of over $3200 a month! It's a dire situation that hampers our ability to welcome new program participants, trapping them in the vicious cycle of homelessness and forcing them to depend even more on social assistance to survive.
But fear not! Flight For Hope is on a daring mission to rally support for Home Suite Hope's visionary affordable housing campaign.
Join us as we witness the incredible journey of local hero Callum Wallace. He embarked on a pulse-pounding solo flight on August 1st, 2023. He is now in the midst of 74 adrenaline-fueled days, soaring through a staggering 26+ countries. Only three fearless Canadians have conquered this daring feat before him. It's an opportunity of a lifetime to witness Callum's awe-inspiring adventure unfold as he circles the world, all while championing the cause of affordable housing for those in desperate need.
